Greater New Orleans Fair Housing Action Center

The Greater New Orleans Fair Housing Action Center is a private, non-profit civil rights organization dedicated to eradicating housing discrimination throughout the greater New Orleans area through education, investigation and enforcement activities. GNOFHAC promotes fair competition throughout the housing marketplace- rental, sales, lending and insurance.  GNOFHAC is dedicated to fighting housing discrimination not only because it is illegal, but also because it is a divisive force that perpetuates poverty, segregation, ignorance, fear and hatred.  www.gnofairhousing.org 

Anna Julia Cooper Project for Gender, Race and Politics in the South – Tulane University

The Cooper Project investigates how gender and race intersect to shape women’s politics in the South, and includes student research opportunities, a postdoctoral program, seminars for faculty and students, and the annual Anna Julia Cooper Lecture. Named in honor of one of the most noted African-American intellectuals in the history of the nation, the AJC project serves as a curricular hub for courses focused on intersectional identities of race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation, provides faculty with opportunities for intellectual collaboration, collegial interaction and scholarly support, and offers meaningful events for local community audiences.
